  • Overview

    The Warehouse Supervisor may be responsible for functions; scheduling, assignment of work and equipment, accuracy/quality control, metrics and other warehouse related responsibilities as assigned.

    Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

    • Direct and supervise the work and productivity of associates and clerical associates within Warehouse Operations.
    • Creates an atmosphere in which open communication is encouraged and motivates team members to achieve department goals and initiatives.
    • Supervisor role is essential part of hiring, discipline and termination process
    • Initial interviews and screening is done by Supervisors, and their recommendation for hiring of candidate is given the most significant weight in the process.
    • Ensures all associates are properly trained in job duties, equipment, safety, and applicable systems.
    • Coaches, develops and manages the performance of team members
    • Conducts disciplinary process with hourly Team Members for both performance and conduct.
    • Makes recommendation for final termination if performance/conduct cannot be resolved, which are given the most significant weight. Supervisor partners with HR Manager in the termination process.
    • Creates the daily/weekly work schedule for Hourly Team Members (approved by Management)
    • Excels in a Metric and KPI based environment
    • Responsible for On Time Route Departure
    • Ensure Inbound outbound order accuracy and quality
    • 30% of time is spent in the administrative aspects of the job and 70% is spent supervising the shipping functions and activities
    • Unless special circumstances exist, supervisors do not directly perform any receiving or shipping functions on a consistent basis.

    Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities & Physical Requirements)

    • High School Diploma Required.
    • Supply chain, warehouse and transportation experience required; preferably 2-3 years of performing required functions.
    • Previous truck routing experience a plus.
    • Retail Grocery experience preferred.
    • Experience with WMS, RF, Voice technology, inventory control, warehouse layout and slotting practices.
    • Strong Data Entry experience.
    • Must have the ability to work am/pm shifts, including weekends.
    • The ability to work in a fast paced environment and be able to multitask.
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel (A Must)
    • Must have excellent organizational and communicative skills.
    • Must be able to support and contribute to team goals.
    • Bilingual a plus.

    Physical Requirements

    • Exposure to extreme temperature changes, moisture, noise, odors, and moving equipment.
    • Running forklifts or pallet jacks on occasion.
    • Prolonged sitting in front of a computer
    • Extensive phone communication and interaction with distribution center staff and store level personnel.
    • Up to 10% of time may be involved in traveling.
    • Lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying up to 70 lbs.
