  • Overview

    The Inventory Control Clerk works with the Warehouse Supervisor to control the inventory flow through the building. This position must follow the plans made by the Warehouse Supervisor as to where product will go once it has passed quality control and confirm that product is stored correctly. Working with the WMS system, they will work with the Supervisor to ensure that assigned slots, changed slotting and proper rotation of products are completed. This position will work closely with the Quality Control and Buying Department.

    Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

    • Maintain proper inventory levels and inventory conditions
    • Using inventory specific software programs, assist in checking inbound inventory and reconciling inventory differences through accurate product count
    • Assist in organizing and placing warehouse inventory
    • Ability to adapt to the ever changing high volume distribution center while working in a cross-functional team environment
    • Must have the capacity to take initiative for making appropriate decisions and have strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Document and enter all new items to WMS system as well as keeping the system up to date with any changes to existing items
    • Performing cycle counts on product to match in the system
    • Checking for proper rotation (FIFO) on all items in storage
    • Verifying that all items are being stored in the proper temperature zone
    • Record all damaged product and/or poor quality product that are removed from system

    Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities & Physical Requirements)

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • 3 years of professional experience in logistics, inventory control, supply management
    • Knowledge of various fruits and vegetables is desirable
    • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to successfully manage concurrent projects, multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
    • Dependable and organized
    • Proficiency in MS Office Applications
    • Knowledge of WMS and /or ERP systems
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast pace environment and comply with strict time frames and deadlines
